Forces Of Good And Evil Have It Out In Oslo, Sweden.

Johannes Andersen documents some truly euphoric moments from the sold out Rockefeller, Oslo gig on March 3d. Judging from the Flickr photo stream, you´d be excused for thinking that Ol´Jeebus Himself was in the house:

But look over to the right side of the Flickr page, where the geodata map and stuff is:

There are evil forces a-foot! Is the Dark Köttbulle Empire trying to co-opt Katzenjammer for their own nefarious ends? Will they claim that the four girls met over “fika” and a “bärs” in a Gothenburg café? That Akerø came flat-packed in a cardboard box, with incomprehensible assembly instructions and an unbrako* key? Will there be a piece of furniture called “Börge” at IKEA? Oh, wait, there is (almost)!

*Yes, it´s actually spelled like that.

“I Will Dance” One Of IndieLondon´s Singles Of The Week.

“[..] this is a Vaudevillian hoedown of ear-pleasing proportions that is high on its own melodies and intoxicating to boot. There’s a sweetness and sense of euphoria about it that makes it impossible to dislike and which bodes well for the release of the LP.”

Anne Marit Gets In Line.

Is that headline too cryptic? Look, the drawing was made in Adobe Illustrator, which sort of makes it line art. And very nice, too! Artist: Michael Hesz.

Meetup At Katzenjammer.

Quite a few katzen-heads are meeting up at the Katzenjammer (surprise!) in Southwark Street on wednesday, the day before the Scala gig. If you´re in London, why not join them? And why isn´t there a nice hang-out called Katzenjammer in every city on the planet?

On Being A Girl Band.

From an interview with More Than The Music:

MTTM: Do you find being an all girl band makes it harder for you to work and be taken seriously in the music industry?

Katzenjammer: We hardly think about the fact that we´re a girl band. The word feels wrong in a way. We´re a band, we happen to have tits. In the beginning of Katzenjammer, we sometimes felt that people (mainly crew on stage in a new venue) didn´t treat us as they would treat the guys before and after us, but that always changed as soon as we started to play. Quite amusing to see their change of behavior, actually! We hope to be good ambassadors for girls who wants to play in bands, and expect that this will not be a question on the agenda in ten years.

A Saturday Session At BBC2 With Two Extra Bandmembers.

Katzenjammer are going back on the BBC this Saturday, for a live session on Dermot
O´Leary´s BBC2 Radio show.

Slight problem: according to the website, Katzenjammer are “a Norwegian 6-piece”. We wouldn´t dream of arguing with the mighty BBC over whether they have their facts in order, which we understand they always do.

So we need to recruit a pair of new bandmembers by Saturday. Akerø, the tralalaika bass, is probably long overdue for full membership status and equal pay, but who should the sixth Katzenjammer be?
